September 10 - from Salzburg AU to Cesky Krumlov CZ

The Salzkammergut is a resort town in Austria. It stretches from Salzburg to the Dachstein mountain range. The main river of the region is the Traun, a tributary of the Danube. The name Salzkammergut means "Estate of the Salt Chamber" and derives from the Imperial Salt Chamber, the authority charged with running the precious salt mines in the Habsburg Empire. With its numerous lakes and mountains, the Salzkammergut offers many opportunities to take part in water sports, bathing, hiking, cycling and golf as well as relaxing around; therefore it is a popular spot for vacation.

We visited a beautiful town by the lake and got a post card type of scenery.  We took our time to enjoy the beauty of the nature and took a lot of pictures.

We got to the lake just in time to board the boat.  We had to rush a bit, however the wonderful lake cruises and the scenery make up the rush.

The lake cruise ended at St. Gilgen that is a nice quiet vacation town. Li found a nice lunch place next to Mozarthaus Sankt Gilgen (Mozart’s Museum) and we all enjoyed the delicious wrap sitting at their outdoor tables.   We did have some free time to wonder around in St. Gilgen and even had some nice coffee and cake at Dallmann.

In the afternoon, we traveled to Cesky Krumlov, CZ.  Cesky Krumlov is a small city in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, best known for the fine architecture and art of the historic old town and Cesky Krumlov Castle.

We have to walk to the hotel “Old Inn Hotel” in the center square of the town.  After we checked in, we all went out to visit the Cesky Krumlove Castle. Inside Cesky Krumlov Castle includes a large garden, an extensive bridge over a deep gap in the rock upon which the castle is built and the castle itself, which in turn consist of many defined parts dating from different periods of time.

Our entertainment scout found out that there is a dance club next to our hotel, therefore we all decided to take care of our dancing bug and went to dancing in the evening.  It is a club with pop music only, however, we still enjoyed ourselves and did a lot of dancing.
