This is the 1st time we were staying at the same city Prague CZ. Prague situated on the River Vltava in central Bohemia (a historical region in central Europe) is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe
Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic centre of the Czech state for more than 1100 years. For many decades during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was the seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus was also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. The city flourished during the 14th century reign of the king of Bohemia and Holy Roman Rmperor Charles IV of the new Luxembourg dynasty. He ordered the building of the New Town (Nové Město) adjacent to the Old Town (Staré Město). The Charles Bridge was erected to connect the new district to Malá Strana. Monuments by Charles include the Saint Vitus Cathedral, the oldest gothic cathedral in central Europe, which is actually inside the Castle, and the Charles University. The latter is the oldest university in central Europe. Prague was then the third-largest city in Europe.
We visited the Old Town Square, Prague Castle (the largest castle in the world), St Vitus Cathedral, Lennon Wall, Old Jewish Cemetery, Jewish District, and the Astronomical Clock on Old Town Square along with the Clock Show. We also visited Golden Lane in Prague Castle. Golden Lane was originally known as Goldsmith’s Lane due to the many goldsmiths’ residing here. It has a charming little passageway along with stores and medieval armory and textiles exhibit. We also experience a special spot in the palace and this spot has an echo effect when to talk or sing.
We supposed to have a nice local duck dinner for everyone. Unfortunately, they did not have enough dock and need to replace it with fish. Both duck and fish were very tasteful and everyone got a chance to taste both. After dinner, we went back to Holiday Inn and have a party in Craig and Joyce’s hotel room to help them consume the dark beer Craig brought the day before. In the party, everyone learn a new game of Guess Fist and everyone take turn to challenge the others and we had great time doing it.
